On the Emerald Coast
We help vulnerable children and families right here on the Emerald Coast. We use CarePortal to help connect churches and local businesses to help meet the needs of families and children in crisis situations.
CarePortal is a technology tool used to facilitate connection between vulnerable children and the church community in their local area. It was created in 2015 by the Global Orphan project in Kansas City. Since then, it has been gradually spreading nationwide. In May 2021, Heart of the Bride agreed to be an implementing partner and help establish the use of this tool in our local community. We are working to train local churches and child serving agencies how to access this tool and disciple them to better serve the children in need in our own backyard.
Connecting you to the CHILD in NEED
CarePortal creates connections within the Circles of Care around the isolated child. It brings together the family, church and community to create a holistic, healthy approach to caring for kids; because every child matters.
Who does CarePortal help?
First and foremost, CarePortal exists to help vulnerable children and families. Requests submitted through CarePortal come from caseworkers at government child welfare agencies or other child-serving organizations approved by CarePortal to vet needs. Churches can also identify and submit needs within their own church and community through the Church Entered Needs feature.
How does CarePortal work?
CarePortal is a technology connecting platform that brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Caseworkers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches and community members aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.
How do CarePortal requests help?
What difference do these requests make for these children and their families? Every time a caseworker submits a request on behalf of a child in their community, they will let you know the purpose. Your responses could help achieve goals like: prevent a child from entering foster care, make an adoptive placement or support a youth aging out of foster care.
When you join CarePortal, you’re saying “Yes” to connections that can change lives, transform communities and reverse the foster care crisis in our nation.
