Three Lives Where Changed!

When the Body Came Together

One of the first emails I sent as the head of Heart of the Bride was about Anna. At age 12, she was attacked and became pregnant. With few opportunities in the village, Anna felt forced to consider options other than delivering her baby. But, our partner, Monica, was right there her letting her know that she wasn’t alone.

In fact, God was putting together a team to help her. Monica and her church stepped in to help. A family in the US felt led to sponsor Anna and then her baby as well. A ministry we are well acquainted with in Nairobi agreed to take Anna in and help her continue her education as she awaited and delivered her baby. And then, Anna’s grandmother, yes, her GRANDMOTHER, agreed to help raise Blessing once that program was done so that Anna can finish high school.

This is why Heart of the Bride exists. We bring the Body of Christ together so that orphaned and vulnerable children like Anna are not alone. Sarafina (her grandmother) couldn’t do this without help. Anna saw no way forward by herself. Monica couldn’t help Anna on her own. But because the Body of Christ was there, Blessing’s life was saved and three lives have been changed. Sarafina is able to smile in the midst of life’s challenges, Anna is full of joy and growing in the Lord, and Blessing is a joyful preschool student at the Eagles Christian Academy.
